ORGANIZATIONAL NEWS

 1.  2011 annual meeting was completed as planned on Sunday, December 18, 2011  at Arlington Height Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave. Arlington Heights, IL 60004 USA. The following are the summary of the meeting:

 

1.    Review financial reports.

2.    Review last year accomplishment:

            a.     Awarded four scholarships: One international student scholarship (Hua-Yuan Tsai studied in USA)and three National Taiwan University Tuition Scholarship .

b.     Participated in the European Union Studies Association in Taiwan to promote the relation between Taiwan and Europe.

c.     Supported the Taiwan School in Chicagoland

d.     Supported the NATEA conference in Chicago.

e.     Established the Dr. Chao-Huei J.Wang memorial fund.

f.     Continued improving our website and resolved virus and spam problem.

3.    Presentation of a new project plan

4.    Plan for next year:

 a.     Continue search for more global advisors

b.     Continue search for more global representatives.

c.     Add more new members.

d.     Global educational travel program – program development and partnership with travel industry.

e.     Support Taiwan School in Chicagoland.

f.      Support 2011 ITASA Midwest conference.

g.     Support 2011 NATEA conference in Chicago.

i.       Participating in the activities of European Union Studies Association.

j.       Support the feasibility study of Taiwan Culture Garden in Taiwan project plan.

k.     Continue to fundraise for current projects.

                            Chau-Zong Chen

4. All  2011 scholarships and grants have been approved by the board of directors for application. For detail please see scholarship.

c.     Supported the Taiwan School in Chicagoland

a.     Awarded two scholarships: Dr. Wei-penn Chang memorial scholarship (Luna Liu studied in Sweden), and National Taiwan University Scholarship (Chi Yau Chen studied in USA)

b.     Participated in the European Union Studies Association in Taiwan to promote the relation between Taiwan and Europe.

c.     Supported the Taiwan School in Chicagoland

d.     Supported the NATEA conference in Chicago.
